Fair(er) Futures Book Club: The Ministry for the Future

‘The Ministry for the Future’ is a climate fiction novel by American science fiction writer Kim Stanley Robinson. Set in the near future, the book follows an international organization whose mission is to act as an advocate for the world’s future generations of citizens as if their rights were as valid as the present generation’s. While the ministry pursues various ambitious projects, the effects of climate change are determined to be the most consequential.

About the Fair(er) Futures Book Club 

How can we imagine a fair(er) future? One that respects the limits of our planet and cares for one another? The Fair(er) Futures Book Club is a new book club by Oikos for anyone who wants to explore (climate) justice in a positive way. They read books by inspiring thinkers who offer tools and show how beautiful the world can be. They meet monthly at Muntpunt. Their sessions will sometimes be held in Dutch and sometimes in English.
